How do I protect my project as Project Owners or Leads?

There are a lot of discords getting hacked these days. There are a few things you can do to minimize the risk that we can discuss in detail. These are the key items to consider.

  1. Make a cold owner account of the discord with another computer then don't use this account again. In the event the discord is ever compromised this account can take back over access.

  2. Install Security Bots - Wick is a great tool to lockdown the discord and help with people trying to abuse posts. There is also Goodnight which can add another layer of protection.

  3. Enable two factor authentication - This should be done for all owners and anyone with significant privileges.

  4. Reduce Bot Privileges - Careful trusting bots and mods with too much access. They should be in the hierarchy right above the roles they manage. They also should be restricted only to specific channels and not blanket applied to every channel.

Where do I learn more about discord setup and security? This is a good breakdown for discord moderation and setup.
