🆘Help Recover My NFTs
Lost your NFTs to a wallet drain. Well maybe there is a way to get them back.
As a holder sometimes we make mistakes. We should be using a ledger, we shouldn't be clicking on random links, but in the end, we know it happens and sometimes as a result our wallet gets drained. Yes all the currency and NFTs are gone.
What to do as a holder?
As a holder you can reach out to SectorH and we will attempt to do the following:
Research the forensics on the blockchain to determine the wallets involved
Research the social media and chat accounts involved
Provide guidance on reaching out to each community to help swap out the images so that we can help remediate the situation
Attempt to contact or respond when contacted to try and recover assets
What to do as a community leader?
As a community leader if a member of your community has had their NFTs drained during a malicious attack you can help by changing out the image in the authority wallet to the "SectorH Compromised" image below.
By changing out the image you are signifying to the attacker and everyone that visualizes the NFT that this is stolen property. Therefore, ultimately stopping it from being stolen or transferred to a legitimate holder.
How do I change out the image?
To change out the NFT image with the "SectorH Compromised" image perform the following steps.
Identify the NFT and validate the user was in fact drained and telling the truth
Obtain the token ID of the stolen NFT such as this sample of SectorH Degen Warrior #1084 EZPuY9rAUqpM3x7pBxze5VdRLx4raQCYRUsBVJFU84zu
Login to your authority wallet for the collection
Go to the following site which will allow you to update a single NFT at a time https://sol-tools.tonyboyle.io/nft-tools/edit-nft
Once on the site connect your authority wallet as shown in Figure 1 below
Make sure you are in the "Edit NFT" mode as shown in Figure 1 below
Paste in the NFT Token to modify as shown in Figure 1 below
Upload the SectorH Compromised Image as displated in Figure 2 below
Make sure all the attributes are filled in correctly as displayed in Figure 3 below. Note: Some times they do not populate. You can use Solscan.io as a reference while updating.
Once everything looks right then click "Update NFT" at the very bottom and approve the updates. Once complete it will say "Edit Successful".
Now the the update is done you can validate in Solscan.io that the image has been changed. It should look similar to that in Figure 4 below if it shows up on a market place.
Once the NFT is recovered for the owner we can follow the same process with the original image.
