Top 5 Signs of NFT Scammers
A short summary of key items to be aware of when operating in the NFT space
We all know there are a lot of scammers currently in the crypto NFT space. Almost anyone can be caught off guard resulting in a wallet drain or their project's discord being hacked. This is why we came up with a few high level signs that it might be a scammer.
Limited Shared Servers - See how many servers they are in that are shared with your profile. Usually, its 1 or none.
Limited Shared Friends - See how many friends they have that are similar. Usually there are none. They user could be new in the space and if they are you might want to caution anyway. Over time the longer you are in the space the more valuable this review comes in play.
Generic Names - Question generic names like 'Announcements', 'Support', 'Speaker', 'Marketing', 'Recommendation', 'employee', 'committee', 'client', 'awareness', 'assistance', and other generic names should all be questioned. Also, many that have 'NFT' in the end of their name have been suspect too.
Too Good To Be True - Why did they reach out to you? How did they find you? Why would they want to give you a job or collab in the first place. Careful with plays to your ego.
False Identity - If someone approaches you in DM always go to the source and check the identity. For discord go back to the main discord of a mod or owner, for twitter go back to the main twitter account and validate. Also, when entering new discords, try and go through the front end in twitter instead of via discord.
